The formal medical staff structure no longer represents most physicians. This presentation shows how better performing hospitals now use a variety of innovative strategies to manage the conflict between physicians and hospitals and build strong hospital-physician relationships.

Participants will learn how to structure employment entities to secure key specialty and primary care physicians. They will also learn how to involve physicians in developing organizational changes that effectively address conflict around the OR. A case study will show how a hospital moved to protect a vital revenue stream by developing a Cardiovascular Institute as an employment vehicle.
